The Imperial Union was one of the two major alliances that took part in the Charon War. Established by Jehrico McAngus as a millitary alliance bettween interested nations in 2160, it was founded on the principle of garanteeing independence for the various nations located around the core colonies. Its establishment was primarily as a response to the growing extension of external influence from the Democratic Federation over colonies outside of their normal sphere of influence. Five years prior to the Charon War after the Week of the Blue Blood the Imperial Union stepped in and administered the various nations affected by the assasination of their political leadership. After the Charon War it would go on to establish itself as a offical nation and empire, becomming the dominant force in human space.
